ARTIFACT: Circa 1970 United States Air Force Special Operations Squadron jacket patch, US made. From 28 August until the end of November 1970, a 13-man 7th SOS crew, commanded by Major Irl L. Franklin, participated in the preparation and execution of the Son Tay Raid, which was an attempt to liberate POWs held in North Vietnam.

VINTAGE: Circa 1970

SIZE: 3 3/8" x 3 ??".

MATERIALS / CONSTRUCTION: Twill embroidered in cotton/polyester thread, mesh backing.
