Description
This is a distinctive insignia for the US Army Command and General Staff College (CGSC), a school at Fort Leavenworth, Kansas which has trained primarily Army majors since World War II. The DI reads LEAVENWORTH AD BELLUM PACE PARATI (for peace, prepare for war).
VINTAGE:Circa 1960s.
SIZE:Approximately 1-1/8" in height 7/8" in width.
CONSTRUCTION / MATERIALS:Gold-plated brass with enamel.
ATTACHMENT:Two posts.
MARKINGS:E-23.
ITEM NOTES:The DI you receive will either be the one pictured or one in very similar condition. This is from a United States Army DI collection which we will be listing more of over the next few months. VAL90 LAJX6/11
CONDITION:7+ (Very Fine+): The DI has some very small pieces of enamel missing from the lettering and one post is slightly bent.
