ARTIFACT: This is a circa 1910 jewelry box from Arthur B. Duncan Jewelers of Portsmouth. Duncan moved into the coveted corner spot at 1 Market Street in 1906. Today a jeweler is installed in the same location, and the building's exterior has been restored to a period, although not original, design. The box is textured and its lid reads ESTABLISHED 1817 ARTHUR B. DUNCAN JEWELER AND SILVERSMITH PORTSMOUTH, N.H. in a lovely script. The cover has half-circle cut outs on each of its two longer sides.

VINTAGE: Circa 1910.

SIZE: Approximately 11/16" in depth x 1-7/8" in length and 1-3/16" in width.

MATERIALS / CONSTRUCTION: Printed, glossy cardboard box with cotton inside.

ATTACHMENT: Lid slides onto box.

MARKINGS: N/A.

ITEM NOTES: This is from a Portsmouth, New Hampshire collection which we will be listing more of over the next few months. VBX04 LAFX2/11 SLABX6/14 TLDEX05/18/24

CONDITION: 8 (Excellent-): The box is in great condition with very slight wear on corners.

GUARANTEE: As with all my artifacts, this piece is guaranteed to be original, as described.
