ARTIFACT: This is a circa 1900's to early 1910's Dallas, Texas Fire Department hat badge numbered 831 at the center and has a small plate near the bottom that reads TEX. The Dallas Fire Department acquired its first piece of fire-fighting equipment in 1872 and unbelievably lost no one in the line of duty for their first three decades (www.dallasfiremuseum.com). The badge is by S.H. Reese of New York City.

VINTAGE: Circa 1900's to early 1910's.

SIZE: Approximately 2-1/16" in diameter.

MATERIALS / CONSTRUCTION: Plated brass.

ATTACHMENT: Single screw post with nut.

MARKINGS: S.H. REESE 57 WARREN ST. NEW YORK, N.Y.

CONDITION: 7+ (Very Fine+): The badge has some small spots of light to medium wear.
