Description
Circa 1900 small Chinese "red pill" opium pipe. This example has a bamboo stem and brass bowl with beautiful blue glass mouth piece made to resemble jasper. This type of pipe was often used to smoke 'hong wan' or 'red pills' a potent combination of heroin or morphine that hit the streets after the 1906 opium smoking Prohibition in China.
