Circa 1880's Handmade "Stock" Oval Police Badge from New England

ARTIFACT:

This is a circa 1880's "Stock" oval Police badge made by hand. The badge is oval and simply reads POLICE in a seriphed font.

VINTAGE:

Circa 1880's.

SIZE:

Approximately 1-11/16" in height x 2-1/2" length.

CONSTRUCTION / MATERIALS:

Nickel-plated brass.

ATTACHMENT:

Horizontal one piece safety-style pin with an open catch.
