Description
This is a fabulous career-spanning United States Navy G-1 flight jacket worn by Captain Frank Cramblet of the Attack Squadron 65 (VA-65) in Vietnam and VA-4This jacket is tattooed with nineteen great patches, all in very good condition. The jacket is accompanied by a baseball-style "Roosevelt Roads PR" commanding officer cap and two VA-42 plaques.
VINTAGE:Jacket: circa 1970 with patches from Korean War-Vietnam War; cap, plaques: 1960s.
SIZE:Jacket: size 40 (24-1/2" shoulder seam to cuff, 22" armpit to armpit and 19" across back shoulder to shoulder); cap: size 7 ¼; plaques: 7-3/4" by 7-3/4" and 8" x 10".
CONSTRUCTION / MATERIALS:Jacket: leather with quilted nylon lining; mouton collar; patches: ten fully embroidered in cotton/silk/polyester threads, eight on twill embroidered in same, one on wool felt embroidered in same; leather name strip, elasticized cotton/nylon cuffs and waistband, metal zipper and snaps, resin buttons; cap: wool, twill, silk, embroidered in cotton/silk/polyester threads; plaques: wood with enameled brass, brass.
ATTACHMENT:Jacket: zipper, buttons at collar and on pockets, snap on inner pocket; cap: none; plaques: metal hanging bracket on each.

CONDITION:8- (Very Fine-Excellent): All items are in very good condition: jacket is still supple and only shows light soiling on a few of the patches and one plaque missing its brass plate.
