ARTIFACT: This is a circa 1935 pin Graf Zeppelin LZ-127 souvenir pin in nickel-plated brass. The airship "Graf Zeppelin" was named after the Germany's airship pioneer, Count (Graf) Ferdinand von Zeppelin. The ship flew passenger flights starting in 1928 and ventured on many routes, including to the Arctic. LZ-127 operated until 1937, the year of the loss of its fellow airship Hindenburg. Its round-the-world flight took place in 1929. Note the swastikas on the tail fins!

VINTAGE: Circa 1935.

SIZE: Approximately 3/8" in height and 1-11/16" in width.

MATERIALS / CONSTRUCTION: Nickel-plated brass.

ATTACHMENT: Horizontal pin with safety pin-style catch.

MARKINGS: None.

ITEM NOTES: This is from a 1930s airship and zeppelin collection which we will be listing more of over the next few months. MBEV14 LAAEX3/14 SAAEX4/16

CONDITION: 8- (Very Fine-Excellent): The pin has very little wear.
