Description
Ca. 1900 Pennsylvania State Fencibles Dress Cross Plate. PA State Fencibles was established in 1813 as a military organization, which eventually became part of the Pennsylvania militia and continued as a unit in the National Guard until around 1900. The plate is rectangular and has an octagonal medallion at the center with the Pennsylvania flag design in relief. The plate has a pin on the reverse and is in very nice condition.
VINTAGE:Circa 1900
SIZE:Approximately 3-1/4" in height and 2-1/4" in width.
CONSTRUCTION / MATERIALS:Gilt brass, nickel-plated brass.
ATTACHMENT:Vertical pin with tongue-style catch.
MARKINGS:None.
