Description

ARTIFACT:

This is a beautifully made enameled pin for a French steamship line. It shows a blue anchor crossed with a white flag showing a small red ball and with the words: Cie. Gle. TRANSATque. All of this is surrounded by a shield-shaped red wreath.

VINTAGE:

Circa 1900.

SIZE:

About 1-1/8" in width by 1-1/8" in height.

CONSTRUCTION / MATERIALS:

Red, white and blue enameled, gilt brass.

ATTACHMENT:

Early "T" type pin with open "C" catch.

MARKINGS:

None.
