Description

ARTIFACT:

This is an unidentified excavated cartouche box plate, possibly from the Revolutionary War period. The plate is convex and has an interesting scrolling design and a lovely patina.

VINTAGE:

Circa unknown.

SIZE:

Approximately 2-1/4" in diameter.

CONSTRUCTION / MATERIALS:

Bronze.

ATTACHMENT:

Two posts, each with a small hole through it.

CONDITION:

7- (Very Fine-): The plate shows some moderate to heavy wear and tarnish due to its age and time spent underground.
