BEING RESEARCHED - Beautiful "Nemo Me Impune Lacessit" Badge - NOT FOR SALE UNTIL IDENTIFIED

This is an unidentified beautifully enameled badge with a border reading NEMO ME IMPUNE LACESSIT (no one attacks me with impunity). The motto belongs to the Scottish Order of the Thistle and also a few regiments of the British Army. The center of the badge shows a red and gold crest with a roaring lion, the badge is topped by a crown, and the border is a belt, reminiscent of the insignia of the Order of the Garter.

Circa unknown.

Approximately 2-1/16" in height and 1-3/4" in width.

Plated brass with enamel.

Horizontal T-style pin with "C" catch.
