ARTIFACT: This is a beautiful World War II temporary factory access badge for Grumman Aircraft Engineering Company of Bethpage, New York. Grumman was established in 1929 and merged with Northrop Corporation in 1994. The badge is in celluloid and is numbered 000, with a color company logo at the center. It was made by Whitehead & Hoag of Newark, New Jersey.

VINTAGE: Circa World War II.

SIZE: Approximately 1-1/2" in height and 2-3/16" in width.

MATERIALS / CONSTRUCTION: Celluloid-wrapped tin.

ATTACHMENT: Vertical safety-style pin with square saddle.

MARKINGS: W&H (Whitehead & Hoag) CO. NEWARK N.J. PAT. OCT. 1 1929.

ITEM NOTES: This is from a war worker collection which we will be listing more of over the next few months. VBEL95 LADEX6/13 SeVAHEX1/16

CONDITION: 8- (Very Fine-Excellent): The badge has only light wear and minor yellowing.
