ARTIFACT:
This is a beautiful World War I silver level worker badge for the United States Government nitrate plant at Muscle Shoals, Alabama. Production of nitrate began within a few weeks of the end of World War I. There were three levels for this badge: the bronze was for a general employee; the silver was for management; gold was for upper management.
