ARTIFACT: Beautiful sterling WWII Barbers Point Naval Air Station, Hawaii patriotic badge by Whitehead & Hoag Co. in Newark, New Jersey. The red, white, and blue shield shaped, enameled badge shows a winged blue circle in the center with the letters: "BP" and beneath it reads: "NAVAL AIR STATION" and above a white scroll or banner reads: "WE WILL NOT LET THEM DOWN". The very top center of the badge features red, crossed anchors with a five point star in raised detail.

VINTAGE: Circa WWII

SIZE: Approximately 1-7/16" x 13/16"

MATERIALS / CONSTRUCTION: Sterling silver, enamel

ATTACHMENT: Horizontal pin with drop in locking swivel catch

MARKINGS: "STERLING" "WH" in a circle, Whitehead & Hoag maker mark

CONDITION: 8- (Very Fine&emdash;Excellent): The patriotic badge shows moderate wear, much of the enamel details remain intact, overall very fine condition.
