ARTIFACT: Beautiful circa 1943 United States Army Air Forces 23rd Fighter Group jacket patch in mint condition. Chinese made in silk embroidery on silk with internal stiffener. The center of the patch shows a winged tiger with a bolt behind and a border of pink. This example shows unique details, such as the Tiger's tail curling around the lightning bolt and the Tiger's head looks more like a snake head! The 23rd were the successors to the legendary American Volunteer Group, the Flying Tigers.

VINTAGE: Circa 1943

SIZE: Approximately 5-1/8" x 4-1/8"

MATERIALS / CONSTRUCTION: Silk embroidered silk, stiffener, silk backing

ITEM NOTES: This is from a USAAF collection which we will be listing more of over the next few months. CON-EDK-25-16 LAEGEX8/16 SAEGEX8/16

CONDITION: 9 (Excellent—Near Mint): The patch shows minor wear, light soiling, colors remain bright, overall near mint condition.

GUARANTEE: As with all my artifacts, this piece is guaranteed to be original, as described.
