This is a circa late 1940s pilot cap badge, 2nd issue for Colonial Airlines. Originally christened in 1928 as Canadian Colonial Airways, Colonial was renamed May 1, 1942 and operated through the 1950s, when it merged with Eastern. The badge shows a rather minimalist seagull or wing at center.
VINTAGE:Circa late 1940s.
SIZE:Approximately 1-15/16" in height by 1-5/8" in width.
CONSTRUCTION / MATERIALS:Gold-plated brass, enamel.
ATTACHMENT:Single screw post with disc backing, two stabilization teeth.
MARKINGS:None.
