Description

ARTIFACT:

This is a beautiful jacket patch handmade in either China or India for the United States Army Air Forces 7th Bomb Group, 10th Air Force, as used by a member of the 436th Bomb Squadron. The patch shows a coat of arms bearing three crosses with a missile at top and reads MORS AB ALTO (death from above).

VINTAGE:

Circa 1944-1945.

SIZE:

5-1/4" diameter.

CONSTRUCTION / MATERIALS:

Handmade silver silk patch embroidered in cotton/silk threads with muslin backing.

MARKINGS:

Handwriting on reverse with information about patch.

ITEM NOTES:

CONDITION:

7- (Very Fine-): Patch shows some minor wear and has been trimmed slightly on the edge.
