ARTIFACT: This is a beautiful Chinese-made, hand-embroidered shoulder patch for the United States Army 5307th Composite Unit (provisional), aka "Merrill's Marauders". The patch is shaped like a shield and divided into two blue and two green quadrants, with a white sun and star separated by a diagonal red lightning bolt.

VINTAGE: Circa World War II.

SIZE: 3-13/16" height and 2-3/4" width.

MATERIALS / CONSTRUCTION: Fully hand-embroidered in cotton/silk threads with muslin backing on edge only.

ATTACHMENT: Five snap attachments.

MARKINGS: N/A.

CONDITION: 6 (Fine+): Patch has overall moderate to heavy wear and some spots of slight discoloration on front and reverse; one snap attachment is missing.
