ARTIFACT:
Beautiful circa 1944 United States Army Air Forces 12th Air Force rayon scarf featuring fighter and bomber aircraft and plane names. In large writing it reads: "12th Air Force" and in smaller writing the names of aircraft: "JIG JIG", "RIDGE RUNNER", "HOO DOO HAWK", "ACE OF PEARLS", "Li'l HENRY", "CULPEPPER JINX", "LADY FROM HADES", "LONESOME POLECAT", "PISTOL PACKING MAMMA", "BLACK SCORPION", "RED THE WRECKER III" and more. Surrounding the names are images of aircraft and emblems: blue triangles that feature a white five point star and a red circle bearing the number "12" in the center with golden colored wings above. Patent and design #0140144 approved in 1944 and therefore, the "PATENT PENDING" mark dates the scarf to 1944.

8+ (Excellent): The scarf shows minor to age/storage wear and a few small spots of soiling, the colors remain bright and hems intact.
