This is a gorgeous World War II Australian-made jacket patch for the United States 823rd Bomb Squadron, 38th Bomb Group, 5th Air Force. Among other duties, the 823rd flew B-25 aircraft in the South Pacific. The patch is hand-embroidered on wool and shows a tiger with blood dripping from its fangs.
VINTAGE:Circa World War II.
SIZE:Approximately 4-15/16" in diameter.
CONSTRUCTION / MATERIALS:Wool hand-embroidered in silk/cotton threads with treated paper backing.

CONDITION:8 (Excellent-): The patch shows only very light wear.
