ARTIFACT:
Circa 1970's USSR (Union of Soviet Socialist Republics) Order of the Badge of Honor Type 4, Variation 1. The badge was once awarded by the Soviet Union to civilians and institutions with notable accomplishments or advancements in labor, the civil service, literature, the arts and sciences. The center of the planchet shows a male and female in a marching stance, the male has his right hand raised towards the sky. The top center shows a five pointed red, enameled star surrounded by Russian lettering and reads: "CCCP" in raised detail and the reverse is numbered: "883672". Overall the badge is nicely detailed and is suspended from a white and orange silk ribbon.

ATTACHMENT:
Horizontal safety style pin with come under catch.
