Description

ARTIFACT:

This is a circa 1970s or 1980s United States Navy jacket patch for VA-22 (Attack Squadron 22). Redesignated from Fighting Squadron 63 (VF-63) to VA-22 in 1959, the new group added a scroll to the original "Fighting Redcock" patch design. The patch shows a dive-bombing red rooster. This patch was made in the Philippines.

VINTAGE:

Circa 1970s-1980s.

SIZE:

Approximately 6-1/2" in height and 4-1/2" in width.

CONSTRUCTION / MATERIALS:

Fully embroidered in cotton/polyester thread.
