1970 Slim Zippo USN Ship Lighter for USS Brumby DE-1044. Near Mint, Unfired, in Box

1970 United States Navy Ship Slim Zippo for U.S.S. Brumby DE-104The lighter is factory engraved showing an image of the vessel coasting through the water, showing a white number: "1044" and beneath it reads: "U.S.S. BRUMBY DE 1044". The USS Brumby was launched in 1963 and was stationed in the Atlantic during the Vietnam War and reclassified as Frigate (FF) in 197In 1989, the USS Brumby was leased to Pakistan, but after the country's refusal to halt their nuclear program, the lease was terminated and the USS Brumby was returned to the United States in 1994 and its name was removed from the Navy's register and then sold for scrap. This example is in near mint, unfired condition and comes in its original box with factory insert with directions for use.
