1962 New Hampshire Department of Safety Motor Vehicle Badge Enameled Seal by Blackinton

This is a rare circa 1962 New Hampshire Department of Safety Motor Vehicle badge. This badge is from about 1962 when the New Hampshire State Police, Safety Services, and Motor Vehicle Divisions all joined under the newly created (in 1961) Department of Safety and were issued new custom die badges. The badge is numbered 8, and has a large, nicely enameled Seal of the State of New Hampshire at its center. The badge is by Blackinton, who during the first years of using the "Hi-Glo" stamp did not add their own standard maker mark.

Circa 1962.

Approximately 3" in height and 2-1/16" in width.

Gilt brass, enamel.

Vertical pin with come-under locking swivel catch.
