ARTIFACT: This is a United States Marine Corps Marine Attack Squadron 224 cruise book from 1961-1963. VMA-224, also known as the "Bengals", borrowed Tony the Tiger as their mascot throughout the book's pages. They were the first Marine unit to man the A4D Skyhawk in 1956, and flew them through their service in South Vietnam. The book was printed in Japan, and shows many candid shots of the group, both in color and black and white, mostly on glossy paper.

VINTAGE: Circa 1961-1963.

SIZE: 84 pages, with photographs and illustrations; approximately 12" in height and 8-1/2" in width and 1" in thickness.

MATERIALS / CONSTRUCTION: Vinyl cover, paper.

ATTACHMENT: Glued binding.
