This is a 1960s distinctive insignia by Susco for the United States Army 81st Field Artillery Regiment. The DI is a red crest with a golden cross and an ermine canton (symbolizing the Brittany coat of arms). The DI reads LIBERTAS JUSTITIA HUMANITA (liberty justice humanity).
VINTAGE:Circa 1960s.
SIZE:Approximately 1-1/16" in height 1-1/8" in width.
CONSTRUCTION / MATERIALS:Plated brass with enamel.
ATTACHMENT:Two posts.
MARKINGS:S-21.

CONDITION:7 (Very Fine): The DI shows some light wear and has some crazing to the enamel in one corner.
