Description

ARTIFACT:

This is a great 1960s Hot Doggers surf windbreaker jacket in cotton by Beasley. The windbreaker is a nice indigo blue cotton twill with contrast light blue racing stripes, a Mandarin style collar and knotted ties at the waistline. There is one pocket on the arm bearing the Beasley, Hot Doggers logo. Hot Doggers is a long-time surf cafŽ in Cocoa Beach, Florida. A photo is shown of this jacket being worn at an Eastertime surfing contest 44 years ago (late 1960s).

VINTAGE:

Circa 1960s.

SIZE:

Size large. Approximately 23" (armpit to armpit), 23-1/2" from shoulder seam to end of cuff, 19" across back shoulder to shoulder and about 25-1/2" from base of collar to hem.

CONSTRUCTION / MATERIALS:

Cotton twill, nylon ties, metal zipper and eyelets.

ATTACHMENT:

Zipper, knotted ties at waist.

MARKINGS:

HOT DOGGERS BY BEASLEY COCOA - COCOA BEACH, FLA; TALON on zipper.

CONDITION:

7 (Very Fine): The jacket shows only light wear but has an easy-to-repair 5" seam rip under the left armpit.
