ARTIFACT:

This is a circa 1960s Japanese-made Strategic Air Command Bomb-Nav Competition "Saunders Trophy Winners" jacket patch. The Saunders Trophy was given out each year to the Top/Best Air Refueling unit. The patch is embroidered on blue twill and shows the trophy at its center.

VINTAGE:

Circa 1960s.

SIZE:

Approximately 3" in diameter.

CONSTRUCTION / MATERIALS:

Cotton embroidered in cotton/silk/polyester threads, muslin backing.

ATTACHMENT:

None.
