This is an Allied Chemical Corporation pilot wing Type I in sterling silver and robin's egg blue enamel. Formed in 1920 as Allied Chemical and Dye Corporation, the New Jersey company changed its name to Allied Chemical Corporation in 1958.
VINTAGE:Circa 1960's.
SIZE:About 3" in width by 9/16" in height.
CONSTRUCTION / MATERIALS:Sterling silver with enamel, brass backings.
ATTACHMENT:Double clutch-back.
MARKINGS:Balfour maker's mark followed by STERLING.
