Description

ARTIFACT:

This is 1950s command pilot wing from Trans World Airline, which began in 1930 when Transcontinental Air Transport merged with Western Air Express. The wing was originally owned by Captain Dominick DeGeronimo and has a Native American man's head in profile at center and a wreathed star at top. Please note that item airtw60020 was also owned by Captain DeGeronimo (wing and uniform).

VINTAGE:

Circa 1950s.

SIZE:

Approximately 1-5/16" height and 3-3/4" width.

CONSTRUCTION / MATERIALS:

Gold-filled, brass nuts, steel plate.

ATTACHMENT:

Two screw posts with double disc backings; bar.

MARKINGS:

LGB 1/20 10K GF.

8+ (Excellent): Wing shows only light wear and areas of tarnish.
