Description
This is a 1944 copy of the United States Army (War Department) and Navy "A Pocket Guide to New Caledonia". This booklet deals with the culture of the native population in this French territory and Allied base, and has some useful phrases translated in the back. It has some one-color illustrations and covers many topics such as the Pacific nation's government, money and customs. Noumea, the capital, was the site of the United States Navy South Pacific headquarters during the war.
