ARTIFACT: This is a 1943 copy of the United States Army (War Department) and Navy "A Pocket Guide to New Caledonia". This booklet deals with the culture of the native population in this French territory and Allied base, and has some useful phrases translated in the back. It has some black and white and one-color illustrations and covers many topics such as the Pacific nation's government, money and customs. Noumea, the capital, was the site of the United States Navy South Pacific headquarters during the war.

VINTAGE: Published 1943 (World War II).

SIZE: 58 pages with a two extra blank Notes pages; approximately 5-1/4" by 4-1/4".

MATERIALS / CONSTRUCTION: Oaktag cover, paper.

ATTACHMENT: Stapled binding.

MARKINGS: U.S GOVERNMENT PRINTING OFFICE: 1943.

CONDITION: 7+ (Very Fine+): The book has some spots of light discoloration to the cover and a few pages have light notes in pencil.
