Description
This is a circa 1939-1940 badge by Arthus Bertrand for the French Army 21st Tank Battalion (21eme Bataillon de Chars de Combat), 507th RCC Regiment. The main body of the badge consists of two crossed cannon, a knight's helmet, and the cross of Lorraine, which evokes the RCC 507 (fighter regiment of tanks based in Metz, Lorraine). The bottom reads JE PASSE and shows a shield bearing three sevens, which when added together equal 21.
VINTAGE:Circa 1939-1940.
SIZE:Approximately 1-7/16" height and 1-3/16" in width.
CONSTRUCTION / MATERIALS:Plated brass.
ATTACHMENT:Vertical pin with C catch.
MARKINGS:ARTHUS BERTRAND PARIS DEPOSE.
