Description
This is an elegant cloisonne cigarette case made in Peking for one Michael Tschetter, a China Marine. Tschetter was in the Company A Detachment American Legation, which was in China from December 1929 to November 1940. The entire case has a repeating fish scale design, the lid is named and dated April 15, 1936, and the reverse bears a beautiful Oriental motif at center. The interior is has a strip to hold cigarettes.
VINTAGE:Circa 1936.
SIZE:Approximately 9/16" in height and 4-1/4" in width and 3-5/16" in depth.
CONSTRUCTION / MATERIALS:Cloisonne with brass fittings.
ATTACHMENT:Hinged case with locking clasp.

CONDITION:8 (Excellent-): Case shows some wear and tarnishing inside but is superb on the outside.
