ARTIFACT: This is a 1930's to World War II Portsmouth Navy Yard Police hat badge from Portsmouth, New Hampshire. The badge displays a nicely enameled Seal of the United States surrounded by nice embellishments at the edges. The badge features a scroll or banner that reads: "NAVY YARD" and below: "POLICE".

VINTAGE: 1930's to 1940's.

SIZE: 2 1/2" in height and 2" wide.

MATERIALS / CONSTRUCTION: Nickel-plated brass with enamel.

ATTACHMENT: Screw post.

MARKINGS: None.

CONDITION: 6+ (Fine-Very Fine) This badge is generally in a solid condition but shows heavy tarnishing. Note that the enamel detail is entirely intact!
