Description

ARTIFACT:

This is a circa 1930s lapel pin for the University of Michigan Flying Club (now known as the Michigan Flyers). In 1929 the group participated in the first-ever National Intercollegiate Flying Association. The small wing has a black enameled center showing the state of Michigan.

VINTAGE:

Circa 1930s.

SIZE:

Approximately 5/16" in height x 1" in length.

CONSTRUCTION / MATERIALS:

Gilt brass, enamel.

ATTACHMENT:

Single screw post with disc backing.

MARKINGS:

None.
