ARTIFACT: This is an Army Corps of Engineers Upper Mississippi Valley Division lapel pin in beautifully enameled sterling silver by Balfour. The pin shows a brass Corps Castle in relief upon a map of Minnesota and parts of Missouri and Illinois. The initials ST.P.D., ST.L.D., R.I.D., and U.M.V.D. go around the border and stand for ST. PAUL DISTRICT, ST. LOUIS DISTRICT, ROCK ISLAND DISTRICT and UPPER MISSISSIPPI VALLEY DIVISION.

VINTAGE: Circa 1930s.

SIZE: Approximately 5/8" diameter with tiny bits of land mass jutting out.

MATERIALS / CONSTRUCTION: Sterling silver with enamel.

ATTACHMENT: Vertical pin with drop-in locking swivel catch.

MARKINGS: STERLING BALFOUR.

CONDITION: 8- (Very Fine-Excellent): Pin has tiny spots of light wear with a sliver of orange enamel missing.
