Description
This is a circa 1930s lapel wing for the Jordan Marsh-Boston Traveler Junior Aviation League (JAL). Formed in 1929 by Boston-based department store Jordan-Marsh and the Boston Traveler newspaper, the JAL was a boys' and girls' club meant to inspire a love of aviation. The JAL had a newsletter, contests, and meetings, one of which Amelis Earhart attended. It existed until 194The wing is in enameled sterling silver.
VINTAGE:Circa 1930s.
SIZE:Approximately 3/8" in height and 1-7/16" in width.
CONSTRUCTION / MATERIALS:Sterling silver and enamel.
ATTACHMENT:Horizontal pin with drop-in locking swivel catch.
MARKINGS:STERLING.
