Description
This is a 1930s badge for the French destroyer "Indomitable" (insigne pour le contre-torpilleur Indomptable). L'Indomptable was built in 1933 and commissioned three years later. She served a short time with the Mediterranean Fleet and then in Indochina, eventually being transferred back to the Mediterranean theatre. She was scuttled at Toulon on November 27, 1944.
VINTAGE:Circa 1930s.
SIZE:Approximately 1-1/4" in height and 13/16" in width.
CONSTRUCTION / MATERIALS:Plated brass, enamel.
ATTACHMENT:Vertical safety-style pin with saddle.
MARKINGS:ARTHUS BERTRAND PARIS DEPOSE and small mark on saddle.
