Description
This is a circa 1930s German fire fighter's dress "dagger". It is made by Georg Rieder of Munich, and has his mark and his Tiger brand logo on opposite sides of the blade. The dagger has an S-style crossguard and a "dove" pommel head. It has a crosshatched grip, a decorative tassel, a leather frog and a metal scabbard.
VINTAGE:Circa 1930s.
SIZE:Overall: approximately 16-1/4" in length and 2-7/8" in width; blade only: 9-11/16" by 15/16" (at widest part); scabbard only: 16-1/4" x 2".
CONSTRUCTION / MATERIALS:Steel, plastic handle, chromed brass, embroidered knot and strap, leather frog, metal scabbard.
ATTACHMENT:Loop at top of frog; also hooks onto scabbard.
MARKINGS:Tiger logo, GEORG RIEDER MUNCHEN.

CONDITION:8- (Very Fine-Excellent): The dagger has a bright blade; the scabbard has some light wear.
