ARTIFACT: This is a 1930s distinctive insignia by Amcraft for the United States Army 241st Coast Artillery Regiment. The 241st operated under the Boston Harbor Defense Command at Salisbury Beach State Reservation in Massachusetts. The DI shows a white diamond and a falcon, with the old device of the Roxbury Artillery as its canton (the arm of Miles Standish). The DI reads VIGILANTIA (vigilance), and at the top of the DI is the arm of Miles Standish again..

VINTAGE: Circa 1930s.

SIZE: Approximately 1-1/4" in height and 1" in width.

MATERIALS / CONSTRUCTION: Plated brass with enamel.

ATTACHMENT: Single screw post with disc backing, 2 stabilization posts.

MARKINGS: AMCRAFT ATTLEBORO MASS.

ITEM NOTES: This is from a United States Army collection which we will be listing more of over the next few months VAL90 LCHX12/11 SCHX2/17

CONDITION: 8- (Very Fine-Excellent): The DI shows only some light wear and tarnish.
