Description

ARTIFACT:

This is a 1930s distinctive insignia by Amcraft for the United States Army 241st Coast Artillery Regiment. The 241st operated under the Boston Harbor Defense Command at Salisbury Beach State Reservation in Massachusetts. The DI shows a white diamond and a falcon, with the old device of the Roxbury Artillery as its canton (the arm of Miles Standish). The DI reads VIGILANTIA (vigilance), and at the top of the DI is the arm of Miles Standish again..

VINTAGE:

Circa 1930s.

SIZE:

Approximately 1-1/4" in height and 1" in width.

CONSTRUCTION / MATERIALS:

Plated brass with enamel.

ATTACHMENT:

Single screw post with disc backing, 2 stabilization posts.

MARKINGS:

AMCRAFT ATTLEBORO MASS.
