Description

ARTIFACT:

This is a 1930s worker identification badge for the Boston Naval Shipyard. One of the oldest naval shipyards, the Boston yard was in commission from 1801 until 197The badge is numbered X81 81155 and reads BADGE MUST BE WORN ALL THE WORKING HOURS, MUST BE REPLACED IF LOST, MUST BE TURNED IN WHEN DISCHARGED on the reverse.

VINTAGE:

Circa 1930s.

SIZE:

Approximately 1-7/16" in diameter.

CONSTRUCTION / MATERIALS:

Nickel-plated brass with painted lettering.

ATTACHMENT:

Vertical kick pin with drop-in locking swivel catch.
