Description
This is a great circa 1920s de Havilland Aircraft Company Limited lapel pin from the estate of World War I Royal Flying Corps double ace Captain E.F.W. Peacock, M.C. Canadian by birth, Peacock was responsible for 11 kills, two of them in one day, while flying on 189 sorties. He joined the Royal Flying Corps in 1917 without pause after already served on the ground for almost two years. The pin is a small aircraft with DH in blue enamel upon the wings.
VINTAGE:Circa 1920s.
SIZE:Approximately 3/8" in height and 1/4" in width.
CONSTRUCTION / MATERIALS:Gilt brass, enamel.
ATTACHMENT:Vertical pin with drop-in locking swivel catch.
MARKINGS:None.
