ARTIFACT: This is a 1920s-1930s stick pin for Avro, or the A. V. Roe & Company, an early aircraft manufacturer in the United Kingdom. Begun in 1910, Avro built airplanes and joined with Hawker Siddeley a quarter of a century later. The company, best known for its Lancaster bomber, which was used predominantly at the Dam Busters raid, also built other models such as the Tutor and Manchester. The head of the pin has a lovely enameled Art Deco winged design.

VINTAGE: Circa 1920s-1930s.

SIZE: Approximately 1-7/8" in height and 11/16" in width.

MATERIALS / CONSTRUCTION: Plated brass with enamel.

ATTACHMENT: Straight pin.

MARKINGS: None.

ITEM NOTES: This is from an aircraft company collection which we will be listing more of over the next few months. VEX98 LHEX8/11 SFJX12/11

CONDITION: 8- (Very Fine-Excellent): The stick pin is in beautiful condition and shows hardly any wear and a couple of pin pricks where the enamel is missing.

GUARANTEE: As with all my artifacts, this piece is guaranteed to be original, as described.
