ARTIFACT:
This is a wonderful circa 1912 100th anniversary advertising paperweight for the Waterbury Button Company of Waterbury, Connecticut. The company's website boasts that at the meeting between Generals Grant and Lee at Appomattox Courthouse, both men wore Waterbury buttons upon their uniforms. The paperweight is in glass and ceramic and is in a faceted polyhedron shape. The ceramic center shows the intertwined initials of the company on its top face and other words and a lion symbol on its sides.

Circa 1912.
SIZE:
Approximately 2-1/8" in height and 3" in width (from point to point).
MATERIALS / CONSTRUCTION:
Glass, ceramic, felted bottom.
