Description
This is a 1907 bronze medal for President Theodore Roosevelt's Atlantic Fleet cruise around the world, which later became known as the "Great White Fleet". The medal shows a bust of President Roosevelt and reads THEODORE ROOSEVELT PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES. The reverse of the medal shows a Victory-like woman and youth holding maps and surveying a fleet. The reverse reads HAMPTON ROADS DEC. 16, 1907 DEPARTURE OF UNITED STATES ATLANTIC FLEET CRUISE AROUND THE WORLD.
