Description
This is a wonderful sterling silver badge from the New York City Firemen's Cycle Club Century Run, a one hundred mile race. Badge is a medallion hanging from a banner beneath a bar with a pair of wings at top. Badge reads OAKDALE & RETURN MAY 8, '98 SURVIVOR FIREMENS CYCLE CLUB N.Y. 98 CENTURY and displays various firefighting implements surrounded by scrollwork.
VINTAGE:Circa 1898.
SIZE:3" height and 1-7/16"width.
CONSTRUCTION / MATERIALS:Sterling silver.
ATTACHMENT:Horizontal pin with come-under "C" catch.
MARKINGS:LAMBERT BROS. N.Y. STERLING maker's mark on reverse.
