This is a beautiful oval serving plate from the Rockingham Hotel in Portsmouth, New Hampshire. The Rockingham Hotel was a luxurious establishment started by larger-than-life local hero Frank Jones and which operated until 1973 (today the former hotel consists of condo units and a restaurant). The plate is edged in lovely purple irises and is by Mitchell-Woodbury Company of Boston.
Approximately 10-7/16" in length and 7-1/4" in width.
MATERIALS / CONSTRUCTION:
MADE EXPRESSLY FOR "ROCKINGHAM HOTEL" BY MITCHELL WOODBURY CO. BOSTON.
This is from a Portsmouth, New Hampshire collection which we will be listing more of over the next few months. VAEX00 LFJX1/11 SFJX5/16
8 (Excellent-): The plate has only light abrasions and one very small spot of discoloration.
GUARANTEE: As with all my artifacts, this piece is guaranteed to be original, as described.
