ARTIFACT: These are a set of 1882 Pawtucket, RI Fire Chief badges in 14K gold in a nice maroon silk lined case. The badges were presented to John Brierly by the Business Men of Pawtucket R.I. on June 15, 1882.

VINTAGE: Circa 1882.

SIZE: Case (when closed): about 2-1/4" in width by 3-1/4" in height; Engine badge: about 1-1/4" in width by 3/4" in height; Chief badge: about 1-1/8" in width by 1-3/4" in height.

MATERIALS / CONSTRUCTION: Badges: 14K Gold; case: leather and silk.

ATTACHMENT: Both badges: horizontal pins with a "C" catch.

MARKINGS: PRESENTED TO JOHN BRIERLY BY THE BUSINESS MEN OF PAWTUCKET R.I. JUNE 15, 1882.

CONDITION: 9 (Excellent-Near Mint): Almost no wear or tarnishing; case is slightly worn at corners.
